NEW JERSEY incentives

New Jersey has made a strong commitment to developing solar. New Jersey residents are eligible for a $3.80/watt rebate (there is a 15% rebate reduction for owner-installed systems). In addition, homeowners can sell the renewable attributes of the solar power they produce through a Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) program. Under this program, homeowners receive an average of $0.20/kWh produced from their solar system.

For example, if a homeowner does a self-installation using a 3366 watt solar system, they would be eligible for a $10,872 grant under the New Jersey Clean Energy Rebate Program. In addition, they would be able to receive a $2,000 Federal Tax Credit bringing the total solar incentive to $12,872. In addition, they would receive approximately $830 annually in SRECs.
