New York Solar Power Installation IncentivesNew York State has many available incentives for installing solar. New York residents are eligible for a $4.00/watt rebate that covers up to 60% of the total installed costs. In addition, there is a New York State Tax Credit that will cover up to 25% of the costs (minus the rebate) up to $5,000. For example, if a homeowner installs a 3366 watt solar system, they would be eligible for a $13,464 grant under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). In addition, they would be able to receive a $2,000 Federal Tax Credit and approximately a $2,000 State Tax Credit bringing the total solar incentive to $17,464. Contact NPCP for more information. |
